Year of Camelids : 2024 camel events calendar

The United Nations declared 2024 the International Year of Camelids (IYC 2024). The Year will highlight how camelids are key to the livelihoods of millions of households in hostile environments across over 90 countries, particularly Indigenous Peoples and local communities. From alpacas to Bactrian camels, dromedaries, guanacos, llamas, and vicuñas, camelids contribute to food security, nutrition and economic growth as well as holding a strong cultural and social significance for communities across the world.

The International Year of Camelids 2024 aims to build awareness of the untapped potential of camelids and to call for increased investment in the camelid sector, advocating for greater research, capacity development and the use of innovative practices and technologies.

SAVE THE DATE ! After the international success of the two camel shows organized in France, the most magical of events in the world for the year of camelids #IYC2024 will take place.

Indeed, in the logic of the two international fairs that we have created in France (and the most important in Europe), the French Federation for the Development of Camelids in France and Europe (FFDCFE) decided to organize for this year a camel parade in Paris.

This Camel Events Calendar is for all of us and will be regularly updated. We do our best to keep you informed of camel-related events around the world. (festival, conference, cameleers meeting, training, open days, trekking, etc.). Of course, if you hear camel-related event near you, please contact us. We are available at this email address: contact@kamelito.com to display it on the map.

Furthermore, events take place all year round and do not have specific dates. This is the case for camel rides, open days or camelecological cleaning of beaches for example. You should follow the publications of these events on social networks.
